Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef (or turkey, or chicken)
- 1/2 tsp each of garlic powder, onion powder, salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 slices sharp cheddar, cut into quarters
- 2 tbsp adobo sauce
- 2 tbsp greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp mayo
- Caramelized onions
- Arugula
- Slider buns
- Bib or butter lettuce
Method:
In a small bowl, combine the meat and spices. Mix well until the spices are well distributed. Divide the meat into 8 portions, roll into a bowl and then flatten to create a patty.
Bring a large skillet up to medium high heat and add a bit of avocado oil. Add each burger into the pan and cook for 5 minutes. Flip the burgers and cook for another 3 minutes. Place a quarter piece of cheese on each burger and cover the pan for 2 minutes until the cheese is well melted.
While the burger cook, in a small bowl, combine the adobo sauce, greek yogurt, and mayo. Stir well.
To serve, place a bit of the chipotle aioli on the slider bun, add the burger, caramelized onions and top with arugula. Serve with bib or butter lettuce instead of a bun if preferred.
